 Sanded grout

SANDED GROUT

Technical Data Sheet

Sanded Grout is an unmodified coloured grouting system suitable for internal and external applications in domestic and commercial projects for floor tiles.

Once cured, Sanded Grout will provide a durable grout finish for most flooring applications.

Sanded Grout is suited to most floor tile grouting applications except those that are subject to strong chemicals.

Typical applications include:
Most floor residential and commercial floor tiling
Swimming pools
Shower and wet areas

Joint width 1- 5 mm
Working time 45 minutes
Set time 3 hours
Full cure 30 days

Mix proportions
1 part clean water to 3 - 4 parts Sanded Grout
Compressive Strength 32 mPA (30 days)
PH 10 - 11

Note: Due to hardness of cured grout Sanded Grout is not recommended for wall applications. Use Flexi-Grout for wall applications

Preparation:
Clean grout lines free from residual adhesive
Grout only after adhesive is set
To avoid staining on porous tiles, seal tiles prior to grouting

Mixing:
Add enough clean water for the job at hand into a clean plastic bucket. Slowly mix in Sanded Grout powder until the desired consistency is achieved.
Mix until a thick smooth lump free consistency is achieved.
Mix into the thickest applicable consistency possible to reduce the likelihood of cracking because of too much water in the system

Application:
Using a firm rubber grouting trowel, force the mixed grout into the grout lines diagonally across the line. Remove as much surplus grout from the tiles as possible.
Remove residue from tile surface with a damp sponge, before residue dries.
After allowing grout to cure for 15 or so minutes (dependant on tile type and temperature) gauge the joints to a uniform finish with a soft cloth.
Polish tiles after 1 hour with a soft cloth to finish.

Coverage:
Is all dependant on tile size, grout joint depth and width. On average allow 800 ñ 1000 grams per square metre.

Packaging:
20 kg bags

Clean Up:
With clean water while grout is wet. Cured grout may require mechanical cleaning.

Health & Safety:
Keep out of reach of children
If swallowed seek medical advice
Wash hands with warm soapy water

Note: Adhere to principles of good tiling practice with specific reference to AS 3958 Part 1 - 1991.
