The feature of Flexi Wall 'n Floor™ Sealer Primer, is that it is based on an organic polymer chemistry, utilising pozzolannas.
The pozzolannas make this a "cementitious" primer, giving it a tougher and stronger finish than conventional primers, yet remaining permanently flexible.
Pozzolannas are cementitious materials, which can be either natural or artificial. These materials contain silica in a reactive form.
On their own they offer no real cementitious value at all, but when finely divided, and in the presence of moisture, they will chemically react at normal temperatures, to form compounds which possess cementitious properties.
Some natural pozzolannas are volcanic ash, burnt lime and rice husks.
Some artificial pozzolannas are fly ash and silica fume.
As the name implies, this product is applied to seal / prime the substrate, stabilising its surface.
It contains small particle resin sizes and pozzolannas. As it soaks into the tile some of the moisture within is lost to evaporation. The resin particles and pozzolannas begin to fuse together forming a dense film which penetrates and fill the voids in the tile surface structure.
Any loose powdery material on the substrate surface, gets bound up in the polymer / pozzolannic film, adding to the surface stability by acting as a filler.
Flexi Wall 'n Floor™ Sealer Primer can be used straight from the bucket onto block-work, concrete and cement board surfaces. Unused product can be stored in the bucket for future use. Store in a cool area.
Relying on a unique alkaline curing chemistry, Flexi Wall 'n FloorTM Sealer Primer achieves a superior bond to cement based products, including new or moist concrete.
For highly porous block-work or old concrete surfaces add cement.
Flexi Wall 'n FloorTM Sealer Primer is best applied by roller or brush, however, it can be sprayed. To ensure a thorough coat is achieved, apply in one direction first, followed by an application 90 degrees to the first.
No pre-etching of surfaces is required, but surface contaminants must be removed. Previously painted surfaces should be stripped by mechanical means, avoiding the use of chemical strippers.
Using 2 coats, 1 litre will cover approx 7-10 sqm.
To wash up hands and brushes, use warm water.
This product contains no hazardous solvents or hydrocarbons.
